SPECIFIC RULES FOR PITCHING MACHINE BOYS
1. Home Team will be responsible for putting a competent person in charge of the official book and Visitor will be responsible for putting a competent person in charge of the score board. If you don’t comply then it will be a forfeit. No more than 3 people are allowed in the score box.
2. One hour and 15 minutes time limit or 5 innings whichever comes first.
3. Five pitches per batter to hit fair ball.
4. Five runs or three outs will constitute one half inning of play.
5. All players bat and all players play in the field.
6. Normal infield positions: the rest in the outfield.
7. No infielders are allowed in front of the pitching machine until the ball is hit.
8. No bunting.
9. Stealing second and third can only be done if the ball goes outside of a 12ft circle around home plate. Stealing third going home can be done only if ball is thrown to third.
10. Fair ball consists of ball hit outside of arc in fair territory.
11. Runners can only advance one base on a steal. No stealing home.
12. Coin toss before each game determines home team.
13. A player will receive a warning for the first two weeks of play for slinging bat. After that the batter will be called out and dead ball will be called. No runners can advance.
14. No infield fly rule enforced.
15. Must have 8 players to play, 9th will be an automatic out.
16. Once an inning starts, you cannot change the infielders’ position.
17. One coach is allowed in the outfield on the field when team is on defense.
18. Bases are 60 ft apart.
19. The coach feeding the machine must duck down if the ball is hit to short stop or third base. If the ball hits the umpire or the machine, it is a dead ball. All runners can advance only one base.
20. The pitching machine is set before game. Only in the umpire’s judgment can the machine be adjusted at any point and time during the game.
21. Runners can advance at will until time is called by the umpire. Time will be called, when in the umpires judgment play has ended.
